The MLB Playoffs offer the largest audience of the baseball season, made up of active and upscale consumers with spending power. The 2016 playoffs were arguably the most exciting games to be played in the post-season, resulting in higher ratings for cable and a lot of twitter activity. TBS saw 1.6 million tweets for the Cleveland Indians October 10th game 4 against the Boston Red Sox and FS1’s game between Chicago Cubs and San Francisco Giants logged 2.4 million total social engagement on the same day. The Cleveland Indians and the Chicago Cubs ultimately went on to play in the World Series, ending one of the longest playoff droughts in North American professional sports.
